| Description: |
Since truancy is generally the first encounter with law enforcement that a child has, it is a predictiable precursor to delinquency. Our program is a juvenile diversion program that takes these issues out of the court at the recommendation of the prosecutor and places them in the hands of an attendance specialist and an elders council, The Mishoomis Adovcates. This is how we make our children responsible for their actions and help them get back into good standing within the community by restoring themselves as suggested by the elders through community works.
