Description: The Absence Addiction Program initiated in 1989 and since has been selected as a model drop intervention program as part of the greawt kids initiative and eventually selected for district wide implementation as the Adventures in Learning Program k-12 

How Program is Funded: The program funding includes contracting services and materials to grant development with funds from federal block grants and district dropout intervention funds. 
Evidence of Effectiveness: External evaluation in progress, External evaluation completed, Preliminary results available (includes draft papers, powerpoint presentations, etc.), Final evaluation report available  

How do you know your program is effective: The program effectiveness is measured by participant performance on standardized tests such as CSAP as well as pre and post testing with participants

What has not worked in the program any why: Systemic resistance to change and the negative stereotypical perceptions of students based on factors such as race, ethnicity, poverty
