| Description: |
The A-team is an student group with the goal of improving attendance/preventing truancy. Students who were truant the previous two years were invited to be a member of the team: fifteen on the middle school team and 15 on the high school team. The students were required to have no unexcused absences and to complete a minimum number of voluteer hours in the community. One team volunteer project is also required. Students having no unexcused absences for the month would be invited to the team monthly luncheon. We also have rewards at the end of the year in four categories: Team caption-as voted on by the team, Best volunteer project, Most volunteer hours, and Best Overall Attendance.

How do you know your program is effective: The students who were targeted were truant the last two years. The goal is to prevent truancy and increase the students attendance percentage.

What has not worked in the program any why: We focus primarily on attendance. We should have added a minimum grade clause to remain part of the team.
