Description: We are a court based program with collaboration with the schools within our city. We provide court sanction as well as case management and resource referrals for youth and their families.

How Program is Funded: We currently receive a grant for the City of Chesapeake.
Evidence of Effectiveness: Internal evaluation in progress

How do you know your program is effective: We are beginning to receive numbers regarding children who return to the system after being placed on order, number of referrals from the schools for initial truancy measures and demographics. We see that the majority of our students who are placed under a truancy order obide by that order and are never brought back before the court.

What has not worked in the program any why: Placing the majority of the truancy matters on the responsibility of the court. There needs to be a more collaborative effort among all institutions involved.
