Education Resources Information Center
ERIC is sponsored by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) of the U.S. Department of Education. It offers a huge database of journal and non-journal education literature covering over one million citations going back to 1966. Many of these articles and papers are available in full-text versions.

This site provides national and state-by-state data on ten key variables related to education, health, and economics among children. From this page you can download a complete copy of the databook, get specific tables, maps and graphs, or download raw data for your own analysis. Kids Count is a product of the Annie E. Casey Foundation.
National Center for Education Statistics
The NCES is part of the Institute of Education Sciences of the U.S. Department of Education. It is the primary federal entity in charge of collecting and analyzing data related to education in the U.S. and other nations. From this site you can search NCES publications, learn about their surveys, and access education statistics through a number of formats.
Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention's Statistics Briefing Book
The OJJDP Statistical Briefing Book provides basic information on juvenile crime and victimization and on youth involved in the juvenile justice system. Data in the six topics (left menu) provide timely and reliable statistical answers to the most frequently asked questions of policymakers, the media, and the general public.

Administration for Children and Families
The ACF is a federal agency funding state, territory, local, and tribal organizations to provide family assistance (welfare), child support, child care, Head Start, child welfare, and other programs relating to children and families. Actual services are provided by state, county, city and tribal governments, and public and private local agencies. ACF assists these organizations through funding, policy direction, and information services.

Department of Health and Human Services
The Department of Health and Human Services is the United States government's principal agency for protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services, especially for those who are least able to help themselves. The department runs more than 300 programs, covering a wide spectrum of activities. A few that relate to children and families include immunization services, Medicaid, financial assistance and services for low-income families, improving maternal and infant health, Head Start, preventing child abuse and domestic violence, and substance abuse treatment and prevention.
